Around twenty-five thousand households in southeastern Queensland were left without power on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms passed over the state, generating powerful gusts reaching 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Destruction
Homeowners observed substantial frozen pellets measuring up to seven centimeters in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been hit with substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing energy supply throughout the affected regions, with nearly 70 crews working to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.

Emergency response teams responded to over five hundred emergency reports across the region, mostly for property damage but also for collapsed vegetation and inundation.

At the height on Sunday, in excess of 28,000 electricity consumers in the state were lacking electricity.

Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of the state's eastern regions this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tomorrow was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with ongoing thunderstorm potential predicted across multiple regions of both areas.

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, especially given the ongoing climate situation.
